From what I've heard EV manufacturers switched to single speed because having more gears didn't really add anything at all, not because they broke. The torque of an electric motor isn't tied to the rpm like it is in ICE.

Modern PPF is warranted against yellowing for 10 years. Should go longer than that. This was definitely an issue with earlier PPFs.
